Cookie Recipe Directions

  1. Gather Ingredients:

    • 2 cups softened butter or oleo
    • 1 ½ cups sugar
    • 3 cups flour
    • 1 cup sesame seeds
    • 2 cups coconut (optional)
    • ½ cup finely chopped almonds
  2. Prepare Dough:

    • In a bowl, cream the butter.
    • Gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
    • Add flour and mix until just combined.
    • Stir in sesame seeds, coconut (if using), and nuts until well mixed.
  3. Shape Dough:

    • Divide the dough into thirds.
    • On a long sheet of waxed paper, shape one third into a long roll (2 inches in diameter).
    • Repeat with the remaining dough.
    • Wrap rolls and refrigerate until firm.
  4. Bake Cookies:

    • Preheat the oven to 300°F.
    • Cut the chilled rolls into ¼ inch slices.
    • Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 30 minutes.
    • Remove cookies to a wire rack to cool.

Yield: About 6 dozen cookies.
