 Toffee Frosting Directions

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 2 and 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Once melted, add the dark brown sugar and a pinch of salt.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly for 2 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the milk.
  5. Return to heat and bring to a boil again, stirring continuously.
  6. Remove from heat and let it cool for about 30 minutes.
  7. Pour the cooled mixture into a stand mixer.
  8. Beat in the powdered sugar using the wire whip attachment until smooth.
  9. Add the vanilla extract and beat again until well combined.
