 Meatball Cooking Directions

  1. Gather Ingredients:

    • 1 lb. ground beef
    • 1 cup cooked rice
    • 2/3 cup chopped onion
    • 3 cloves minced garlic
    • 1/4 cup parsley (finely chopped)
    • 1/4 cup grated parmesan
    • 2 tablespoons ketchup
    • 2/3 cup eggs
    • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 jar tomato sauce
    • 2/3 can chicken broth
    • Olive oil
  2. Preheat Oven: Set the oven to 450°F.

  3. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl or mixer, combine ground beef, cooked rice, onion, garlic, parsley, parmesan, ketchup, eggs, white pepper, black pepper, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix gently.

  4. Form Meatballs: Shape the mixture into balls about the size of tangerines.

  5. Prepare Baking Pan: Rub a 13x9x2 inch pan with olive oil. Place the meatballs in a single layer in the pan.

  6. Bake Meatballs: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.

  7. Heat Sauce: While the meatballs bake, warm the tomato sauce and chicken broth in a saucepan, stirring to mix.

  8. Add Sauce: After 20 minutes, remove the meatballs from the oven. Turn them over and pour the sauce over the meatballs.

  9. Braise Meatballs: Return the pan to the oven and let the meatballs cook in the sauce for an additional 15-20 minutes.

  10. Rest and Serve: Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
