Yield: 6 to 8 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 (14 1/2-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 1/4 cups ketchup
- 1/2 cup bottled barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons chopped pickled jalapeños (optional)
- 1 tablespoon liquid from pickled jalapeños (optional)
- 8 hamburger buns, toasted
Preparation:
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until it crumbles and is no longer pink. Drain the excess fat.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, ketchup, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and jalapeños (if using).
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the mixture thickens.
- Serve the beef mixture on toasted hamburger buns.
