Oven-Baked Chicken Parmesan
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves (about 1 1/4 lbs)
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 3/4 cup Italian seasoned dry bread crumbs
- 1 jar (26 ounces) marinara sauce
- 1 cup Parmesan or shredded Mozzarella cheese
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (425°F for metal pans).
- Dip each chicken breast in the beaten egg, then coat with bread crumbs.
- Place the coated chicken in a 13 x 9-inch glass baking dish.
- Bake the chicken uncovered for 20 minutes.
- Pour marinara sauce over the chicken and sprinkle cheese on top.
- Bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink.
- Serve with hot cooked pasta, if desired.
