 Oven-Baked Chicken Parmesan

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves (about 1 1/4 lbs)
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 3/4 cup Italian seasoned dry bread crumbs
  • 1 jar (26 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 1 cup Parmesan or shredded Mozzarella cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (425°F for metal pans).
  2. Dip each chicken breast in the beaten egg, then coat with bread crumbs.
  3. Place the coated chicken in a 13 x 9-inch glass baking dish.
  4. Bake the chicken uncovered for 20 minutes.
  5. Pour marinara sauce over the chicken and sprinkle cheese on top.
  6. Bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink.
  7. Serve with hot cooked pasta, if desired.
