Keftedes Directions
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef (80% lean)
- 4 slices white bread
- 1 cup milk
- 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
- 1/3 cup fresh oregano (finely chopped)
- 3 tablespoons fresh mint (finely chopped)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 eggs (beaten)
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Oil for cooking
- Rice and tomato sauce for serving
Steps:
- Prepare Bread: Soak the 4 slices of white bread in 1 cup of milk until soft.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, oregano, mint, garlic, beaten eggs, and soaked bread (squeeze out excess milk).
- Season: Add kosher salt and black pepper to taste. Mix everything thoroughly.
- Shape Keftedes: Form the mixture into small balls or patties.
- Cook: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the keftedes until browned and cooked through.
- Serve: Plate with rice and tomato sauce. Enjoy!
