Oriental Salad Directions

Ingredients:

  • Mixed greens
  • Chopped green onions
  • 1/2 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 can La Choy rice noodles
  • 1 pkg sunflower seeds
  • 1 pkg slivered almonds
  • 6 T red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Steps:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Spread the sunflower seeds and slivered almonds on a baking sheet.
  3. Toast them in the oven for 5 minutes.
  4. In a saucepan, heat the red wine vinegar and sugar over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the vegetable oil, salt, and pepper.
  6. Allow the dressing to cool to room temperature.
  7. In a large bowl, combine the mixed greens, chopped green onions, crumbled bacon, rice noodles, toasted sunflower seeds, and toasted almonds.
  8. Just before serving, mix the dressing with the salad ingredients.
