Lima Beans

 Cooking Directions for Lima Beans

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1/8 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 3/4-1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 (12-ounce) package frozen lima beans
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a medium saucepan.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  4. Add the frozen lima beans and let the broth return to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. After cooking, do not drain the beans. Add the remaining butter, salt, and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
